Back in the Swing
We are in the 2nd week of school and it already feels like we never left. The students seem a little more mature than last years group. I have 7 more years of teaching after this year and then can think about retirement. At least I am in single digits now.
Football is going well. This is the first year we have seniors in our program and I think we will have a successful season. Our problem is a real lack of depth. Our front line players will be very representative, but as soon as we play the second level players we take a real drop off. We shall see. We are playing in the appropriate conference and level (3A) for our players.
I am already thinking about what to do next summer. Is that a good sign or a bad sign?
We need to do something special when Joanna gets back from deployment.

I think about next summer all the time Dad. I think it drives me on. I have plans with Jill to hike the grand canyon. You and I are going to ride up to get some taffy in Estes Park and Jen and I are going to start looking at houses. And I guess I'll just have to hang out with and love on Jean and Mom.
7 years! What will you do with yourself then? Do you ever think about going back to the business world or are you more thinking the life of a retired Pop?
Jo - I would definitely do something and not just vegetate. Maybe work at a Harley dealership!
I bet he and mom bomb move into the house we are going to buy... we better get a basement apartent... with a separate entrance. HA!!
PS. I'm not invited to the Grand Canyon hike?
poop on you.
We can all go to the Grand Canyon. Bomb and I will ride the Harley and watch the hikers from the lookouts. Jennifer can leave Jimbo with me and we will sip cool drinks and watch Schmoop poop on the trail!
If Mom gets a fat boy can I drive it? Mom you should get a bike with a side-kick car on it. That would be awesome. so very awesome.
Jimmy, Holly, Emily, and Gary could all ride together. It'd mess up Dirt's hair so she can't come.
